we are Joana and Serkan, the proud founders of MAKANI.
Our journey began with a vision: to bring a breath of fresh air into the world of fashion accessories. The name MAKANI, which means "wind" in Hawaiian, reflects exactly that - a breeze of fresh air, in an often stagnant market.
In today's world, it often happens that we shop online, are enthusiastic about a product, only to find that it is morally questionable due to the genuine leather, overpriced or simply not convincing in terms of quality. - This is exactly where we come in.
Our goal is to overcome these challenges by creating high-quality, affordable and vegan fashion accessories that are designed in Germany and manufactured under ethically sound conditions.

Without the necessary knowledge or resources to build an online presence, we turned our apartment into an office and later a warehouse - all in the service of our dream. Despite the adverse circumstances and challenges, we found incredible support and enthusiasm from our customers.
Your support has been key to our growth. It has encouraged us to expand our capacity and move to a larger warehouse to meet demand. Finally, we have partnered with a fulfillment service provider to serve you even better.
